Fantastic
I have a serious "man-crush" on Sebastian Junger liked his previous books storm perfect and death in Belmont, and this book just raises its reputation in my eyes. Provides an overview on one side of the war in Afghanistan which is simply amazing. Junger done an excellent job not only describing the painful struggle, but also going on just the right amount of time delving into the psychology of men fight against war - and indeed to all men (and women) who have fought in every war.
Fascinating and great work by an equally fascinating and wonderful writer.

Destined to be a classic on the personal aspects of combat
This blinding representation, which of the bunch of our modern warriors, Sebastian Junger gives an overview of the internal aspects of combat combat intimate. Unlike many tales of war which glorify or arbitrator combat, Sebastian Junger brings us in violence, drama, and the danger of personal and journalistic perspective fighting. The reader is left to draw their own conclusions.
By abandoning current "journalistic standards" fictitious objectivity, it gives us his personal with hope, fear and pain experience while trying to remain an observor of fighting against the réelle.Je reminds me the great works of corrospondents war in the years that freely provided personal stories.
Conflict stories, horror fill pages as a firefight rage and the drive is shellshocked.Certains are complained that history is difficult to follow, but I rather think that is the point.War is hell, and chaos.
